Raz Badiyan

Loving you was sitting in front of a fire

Small enough to see you on the other side

But large enough to scale my height

In an open rainforest far from here

During early spring in the southern hemisphere

At the peak of twilight;

Cross-legged with hands in my lap,

Eyes far from open,

Silence exchanged across the warm flames

Surrounding us,

A world in sepia.
